A collection of five films starring 1930s curly-haired child star Shirley Temple. In 'Heidi' (1937), an adaptation of Johanna Spyri's classic tale, Swiss orphan Heidi (Temple) is sent to live in the mountains with her grandfather. In the musical comedy 'Stowaway' (1936), Temple plays Ching Ching, an orphan in Shanghai who stows away on a boat bound for America. Amongst the passengers is Tommy (Robert Young), a playboy who takes her under his wing. In musical drama 'Captain January' (1936), Temple plays Star, the child of a broken home who is taken in by taciturn but loveable lighthouse keeper Captain January (Guy Kibbee). In 'Poor Little Rich Girl' (1936), a remake of the 1917 Mary Pickford picture of the same title, Temple plays Barbara Barry, the neglected child of a rich widower, who ends up in the care of vaudeville entertainers Jerry and Jimmy Dolan (Alice Faye and Jack Haley). Finally, 'Our Little Girl' (1935) is a family drama starring Temple as Molly Middleton, a little girl who runs away from home when her parents' marriage turns sour.
